He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Thomas and Alice Emmaline Ross DeWees; and his close friend Julia Herring. He is survived by: his daughters, Danica (Jeff Bagley) and Jessie (Danny Smith); his stepchildren, Chasity Grant of Adairsville, GA, Miranda, Paul Davis of Calhoun, GA and Alex Matlock of California; his siblings, Donald DeWees of Resaca, GA, Elizabeth Pullman of Oklahoma and Audrey Winton of Resaca, GA; his grandchildren, Hali Smith, Jake Smith, Alli Reeves, Hewson Reeves, Jessie Smith, Danni Smith, Kayle Smith, Sara Belle Su, Rebecca Downer, Hannah Downer and Amalia Duis; and his nephew Thomas Higgins. He is also survived by six great grandchildren.
Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
