He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Atkins and Gertha Ross Atkins; his son Britt Atkins; and his siblings, Cecil Atkins, Charles Atkins, Reford Atkins, Shirley Self and Yvonne Roberson.
He is survived by: his wife Myra Garlin Atkins; his children, Jerremy and Emily Atkins; his granddaughter Paisley Atkins; his sister Helen Hunter; and his mother-in-law Margaret Garlin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Following Covid-19 guidelines with social distancing, funeral service will be held Friday, August 14, 2020, at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Dr. Steven F. Pearson and Dr. Garry Tate officiating.
