He was predeceased by: his parents, James L. Nichols and Ethel Shell Nichols; and his sister Charlotte Giles. He is survived by: his wife Sarah F. Nichols; his siblings, Joseph J. Nichols and Rebeca Prater; his children, William Edwin Nichols and Jerri Lynn Brophy; and his stepchildren, Charles Franklin Brand and Ramona Lynn Bray. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
