He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mize and Lottie Pace Mize; his siblings, Clara Kirby and John Thomas Mize; his parents-in-law, Jack Crider and Ellen Crider; and his brother-in-law Troy Hibberts.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Crider Mize; his son Brian Mize Sr. of Tampa, Florida; his grandchildren, Brian Mize Jr. of Acworth and Piper Mize of Acworth; his stepgranddaughter Rachel Rose Thompson of Kennesaw; and his sister-in-law Doris Crider Hibberts.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Walter's memory to New Hope Baptist Church building fund, P.O. Box 206, Ranger, GA.
