She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Mae Darnell of Calhoun and Herbert Darnell; her stepmother Lucille Darnell; her husband John R. Sexton; her sisters, Betty Roberts and Doreathea Caylor; and her son Jeffrey Morris Sexton.

She is survived by: her children, John R Sexton, Jr. of Acworth, David Sexton (Jill Sexton) of Toccoa, GA. and Lisa Hearn (Gregg Hearn) of Chickamauga, GA.; and her grandchildren, Jenny, Michael, Ethan, Justin, Brittney, Kelly and Will. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.
