He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Mitchell and Marilyn Mitchell of Stone Mountain. He is survived by: his wife Angela; his daughter Claudia; his siblings, LeaAnn English and Howard (Connie); and his nieces, Jordan and Ashton Mitchell. He is also survived by numerous cousins and many friends.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, scholarship contributions be made to the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, 2015 Ayrsley Town Blvd, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28237 in Philip's name.
