He is survived by: his wife Candace Malinda Gibson; his children, Paula McIntyre, Melvin Douglas Gibson Jr. and William Joseph McIntyre; his brothers, Richard Gibson (Kirkie) and John Gibson; and his grandchildren, Jamie Allen McIntyre (Raven), Stephen Douglas Russell and Ashley Malinda Russell. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
