She was predeceased by: her husband Virgil G. Merritt; and her children, Mary Elizabeth Taylor, Shirley Ann Merritt and Virgil Lamar Merritt. She is survived by: her pets, Gi Gi, Peanut, Fee Fee, Skipper and Matt-Matt; and her daughters, Joan Merritt and Penny Hansknecht. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and twenty great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
