He was predeceased by: his parents, George Burdell Newsome and Navy Lou Johnson; and his brother Allan Burdell Newsome. He is survived by: his wife Karen Newsome; his children, Jimmy L. Newsome (Angela) and Lisa Newsome Whatley (David); his grandchildren, Christopher Newsome (Jessica), Rachel Whatley and Jessica Whatley; and his great grandchildren, Ava Newsome and Samantha Newsome.
