She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Hejny and Alice Hejny; her son Benjamin Payne; and her brother Robert Hejny. She is survived by: her husband Allen Smith; her daughter Michelle Payne of Acworth, GA.; her brother John Hejny; her sister-in-law Elyse Hejny; her nieces and nephews, Jennifer Hejny Aponte, Kaitlyn Hejny Tienken, Joseph Hejny and Michael Hejny; her great-nephew Anthony Aponte; and her great-nieces, Madison Hejny and Chloe Hejny.

She would donate time, supplies, and give financial donations, even a small amount, to various organizations that she was honored to be a part of. In her last wishes, Georgette desired that people would not send flowers upon her passing, yet donate to a local charity, shelter, refuge, or society that would benefit that health and well-being of animals.
