She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucius Owen and Agnes Smith Owen; her husband Richard Edgar Middlebrook; her son Robert Flanagan; her sister Evelyn Owen Hassell; and her grandson John Chittam.
She is survived by: her daughters, JoAnne Middlebrook Chittam (Jim) and Margaret Middlebrook Campbell (Michael); and her grandchildren, Jim Chittam (Shelley), Laura Chittam Thomas (Lee), Zach Chittam (Lori), Michelle Stomps (Richard), Mark Campbell (Jen), Kellye Flanagan Raines and Kimberlee Flanagan Cochran.
