He was predeceased by: his parents, William Elisha Hobgood and Athillie McMichen Hobgood; and his siblings, Clinton Hobgood and Willie Mae Cowart. He is survived by: his wife Genevieve Hobgood; his sons, Barry "Scott" Hobgood (Anna) and Dale Lee Hobgood (Donna); his grandchildren, Jennifer Ruth Hobgood and Christopher Scott Hobgood; and his siblings, Syble Moss, Faye Kelley and Charles "Windle" Hobgood.

Doyle was close with his family, always wanting to go visit, he often Donated blood to the Red Cross.
