It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carter Lane McKinnon of Acworth, Georgia, born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, who passed away on November 7, 2024, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Frank Westmoreland McKinnon and Susie Baggott McKinnon. He is survived by: his wife Anne; his sons, Carter Lane McKinnon Jr. (Christina), Alexander Westmoreland McKinnon and Miles Parker McKinnon; and his grandson Sterling James McKinnon.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home (180 Church St, Marietta, GA 30060). A memorial service was held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Youth on Course, a nonprofit dedicated to introducing young people to the game of golf.
