He was predeceased by: his wife Myrtle Rich; his parents, Byrdie Gumaer and Hazel Rought; and his siblings, Gerald Gumaer, Ella Lance, Irene Lowe, Gladys Lawton, Pearl Gumaer, Ethyl Gumaer, Barbara Ortloff, Helen Price and Evelyn Andrus.
He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Tesla (Michael), Daniel Gumaer (Ruth), Brent Tesla (Charlene) and Christopher Tesla (Jenna); his great grandchildren, Sophie and Emma Joy Tesla; and his sister Beverly Brigham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
