He is survived by: his wife Genie Block of Nemaha, IA; his children, Randy and Tamera; his sisters, Cindy (Dan), Donna (Greg) and Judy; his siblings-in-law, Joyce, Merilyn (Mike) and Tom (Bev); and his nieces and nephews, Maria, Melanie, Monique, Laurie, Mike and Alex.

“Dick Mintken was a big, strong, gentle good guy. It was a privilege and a pleasure to know him. One incident from som40 years ago sticks in my mind, and it has to be retold. Sally came home with son Scott from a cub boat regatta somewhat flustered one afternoon. When she located Scott's cub boat Dick came along and put it on a trailer for them single handed. Unfortunately it was either the wrong boat or the wrong trailer! But Dick grinned and corrected the situation. Gerry Maier”
