He was predeceased by: his father Maurice V. Fernandes; and his brother Jerome Fernandes. He is survived by: his mother Elaine Fernandes (Cummings); his wife Ines Fernandes; his sister Laraine Johnson; and his children, Lisa Fernandes, Teresa Fernandes, Christine Fernandes, Maria Fernandes, Michael Fernandes II, Maurice Fernandes II, Diana Fernandes and Victoria Ruban (Stephan). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
