He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Whitcomb and Bertha Whitcomb (Holbert); his former wife Ruth I. Whitcomb; his sister Christine Finchum; and his grandchildren, Matthew Norrell and Jessica Domingo.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Ball Whitcomb; his children, Michael Whitcomb (Ofelia), Pat Davis (Clay), Maryellen South (John), Sue Ball, Mike Ball (Connie) and Tim Ball (Carol); and his brother Robert Luke Whitcomb (Donna). He is also survived by twenty grandchildren; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
