She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover C. Smith and Alene Giddens Smith; her husbands, J. H. Johnson and John T. Kilpatrick; her sister Lois Braxton; and her grandson Joe Budd.
She is survived by: her children, Darlene Budd (Ricky), Donnie "Bobo" Johnson (Irene), Charmayne Johnson Pike (Benny), Tim Sparks (Marika) and Doris McClurg; her stepdaughter Renee Aparicio (Manny); and her siblings, Kenneth, Lamar, G. C. and Betty. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
