He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sister Rose Mary Stalling; his wife Lori A. Smith of Yulee, FL; his sons, Joshua R. Smith of Yulee and Jacob Evan Smith of Yulee; his parents, Thomas E. Smith and Marjorie R. Smith of Palm Bay, FL; his siblings, Michael (Sandra Smith), Andrew (Robyn Smith), Patrick (Cathy Smith) and Kathleen; and his brother-in-law John Sherepita. He was also cherished by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to either Catholic Charities – Camp I Am.
