He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Barfield and Dorothy Barfield (Butler); and his brothers, Ervin and Jimmy. He is survived by: his wife Karen Barfield of Yalaha, FL; and his children, Jerry Barfield (Bobbie) of Eva, AL, Ricky Barfield (Bridget) of Cullman, AL, Kady Zentino (Angel) of Blountsville, AL, Gloria Barfield of Cullman, AL and Cheryl Gill (Nick) of Cullman, AL. He is also survived by sixteen loving grandchildren and several loving great-grandchildren.
