He was predeceased by: his son Stephen; his parents, Chester Hale and Elizabeth Hale; and his sisters, Doris Hale and Mildred Fine.

He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth and Patricia Terrill (William); his grandchild Ryan Hale; and his wife Mary Sloan.
