He was predeceased by: his parents, Zebulon Carson Burton, Sr. and Susan Warren Burton. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Burton (Goode); and his children, Michael Erick Burton, Glynda Suzanne Burton, Julie Ford (Burton) and Kelly Perrin (Burton). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Yellowstone National Park, at yellowstone.org. Zeb donated to this same cause every year; he would greatly appreciate the remembrance.

“May I offer my condolences on the passing of Zeb. He and I were together for a year as fellows of a famous cardiologist in the Emory Clinic, Bruce Logue. During that time I observed that not only was he outstanding professionally but also as a human being. Our world would be a much better place if individuals came up to the high standards set by Zeb. And to top it all off, he had a great sense of humor. James Williamson, M.D.”
