He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Tess; his children, Anita, Andrea and Alex; his daughter-in-law Zane; his grandchildren, Kate, David, Phoenix, Walter, Vivienne and Siena; and his parents, James Daniel Taylor, Sr. and Ella Sophie Sneedse.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any gifts be made to the scholarship he set up at Georgetown University: The James D and Teresa F. Taylor Family scholarship fund.
