It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carey P. Joiner Jr. (Winter Park, Florida), born in Columbus, Georgia, who passed away on April 23, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Carey P. Joiner, Sr. and Vivian McRee Joiner; and his wife Judith Smith Joiner. He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth DeFranco (Jason); his sisters-in-law, Harriet Coulter Smith and Barbara Ellison Smith; and his nieces and nephews, Mike, Scotty, Jody, Greg, Susan and Ellison. He is also survived by 11 grandnieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation: JDRF 26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004 or Jdrf.org.
