He was predeceased by: his son Richard Scarlet; his sisters, Lenore Pritzker and Sheila Dee Stein; his brother-in-law Allan Richmond; and his parents, Blanche Stein and Benjamin Stein.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Scarlet; his children, Victoria K. Scarlet (Jeremy Pritzker) and Moriah Patterson Stein; his sisters, Eunice M. Richmond and Sandra Schmoyer; his brother-in-law Allan Pritzker; his grandchildren, Briella Scarlet Van Hoose, Alina Pritzker, Trey Patterson and Maddie Patterson; and his nieces and nephews, Victor Sander Richmond, Richard Pritzker, Eric Pritzker, Sharon Joy Gross, Leslie Pritzker, Dr. Jordan Pritzker, Raanan Pritzker, Jeffrey Schmoyer and Laurren Schmoyer.
