He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Leslie Rawlins Strickland; his siblings, Marianne Thompson (Tommy), Timmy Strickland (Crystal), Larry Strickland (Donna), Darlene Davenport and Robbie Strickland (Penny); and his parents, Betty Bowen Strickland and Gerald Strickland. He was also cherished by cousins, nieces, and nephews.

My parents, Lynda and Skip Maddox, Aunt Nita, and my family loved and adored him. Benny was full of life, had a great sense of humor and that laugh! He was a positive influence in the lives of so many over the years. He was a dedicated public servant and the best damn car man I ever met! I love you Honest Ben! RIP. Barry A. Stumbo”
