He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnny Marrell and Bessie Marrell; his siblings, Juanita Tucker, Flora Bell, Louise Aplin, Annette Tucker and Bill Marrell; and his grandson Zak Shepstone.

He is survived by: his wife JoAnn of West Melbourne; his children, Michael John Marrell of Melbourne, FL, Kimberly Kukuchka (Jerry) of Littleton, CO and Heather Marrell of Nantucket, Mass.; his daughter-in-law Christine Burgess-Marrell of Columbus, OH; his grandchildren, Chad Marrell, Cody Marrell, Connor Marrell, Casey Marrell, Luke Shepstone, Tyler Kukuchka, Easton Gregory, Devane Gregory and Keaton Kresl; and his niece Georgia. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
