He was predeceased by: his son William Lance Smith; his parents, Willie Smith and Margarite Smith; his siblings, Betty Faye Smith and Terry Allen Smith; and his granddaughter Tiffany Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Smith; his children, David "Brad" Smith (Leslie), Angela Dawn Leary and Richard Fred Smith, Jr.; his sister Barbara Pringle; and his grandchildren, Ryan Kristopher Leary, Lexi Kendall Leary, Bryan Garret Smith, Brett Austin Smith, Blake Dylan Smith, Kevin Lance Smith, Clayton William Smith and Lauren Olivia Smith. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family.
