She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil Cureton and Ella Mae Cureton; her siblings, Roxy Nickelsen and Charles Edward; and her daughter Mary Jane Lanier.

She is survived by: her children, Jetta and James Jr.; her husband James Lanier; her children, Alan Heinrich, Vickie Lanier (Jay Mouser) and Denise Lanier; and her sisters, Erma Jean Moore (Larry), Bobbi Holmes and Tricia Lanier. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
