He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Saarts and Hilda Pais. He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Karl (Cathy) and Ellen Knaus (Jason); and his grandchildren, Jessica, Cindy, Eric Saarts, Makayla, Peter and Lindsey Knaus.
