Dave Bledsoe wrote a sympathy message

“I was lucky enough to be placed on E-11 when I first became a lieutenant where Larry was the senior lieutenant on T-11. I was overwhelmed by his kindness to me and his willingness to try to mentor me. He was a truly inspirational leader who exhibited great values, not only with FD things, but in all of life. He made life better for all of those in contact with him with his genuine caring and his great sense of humor.”

Ray Chaney wrote a sympathy message

“My greatest sympathy to Bev and family. Larry was a fine person whom I admired and respected and considered a personal friend. His work ethic was first class in performing all his OFD duties throughout his career. I was shocked to hear of his passing and regret not having been in closer contact in recent years. I very much appreciated his occasional calls over the years for a short visit. Larry you were a great Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, may you rest in peace. Ray & Yvonne Chaney”
