He is survived by: his adoptive son Shannon Mercado; his grandchildren, Martina Rodriguez (Simon) of Webster, Florida and Fil Pedraza-Mercado; his great grandchild Jessa-Maria; his cousins, Diana H. Brown, Linda L. Hayes of Clermont, Florida, Gavin S. Brown of Clermont and Brandon D. Brown of Saint Augustine, Florida; and his friend Cristy Olvera.
