He was predeceased by: his parents, Hill O'Neal and Hallie Davison (Cook); and his stepfather Julian Davison. He is survived by: his wife Karen O'Neal (Summers); his children, Katie Jackson (Steven), John Hill O'Neal Jr. (Caroline) of Madison, GA and Bobby O'Neal of Sebring, FL; his stepdaughter Briana Ames (Kyle) of Florence, SC; and his grandchildren, Merrill Lash, Lyda O'Neal, Davison O'Neal and Julia O'Neal.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Highlands Sertoma Club.
