He is survived by: his wife Minnie Maxwell Ayers of Wauchula, FL; his children, Donna A. Steffens (Frank) of Wauchula, FL, Carl Eugene Ayers (Ann) of Lake Placid, FL, Billy Dean Ayers (Virginia) of Bowling Green, FL and Roger Clark Ayers (Lynn) of Sebring, FL; and his brothers, Edward Faye Ayers of Arcadia, FL and Lyndel Ayers (Ada) of Bowling Green, FL.. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
