She was loved and cherished by many people including: her siblings, Pat and Don; her parents, Herman McLearn and Agnes McLearn; her husband Lawrence J. Lyng, Jr.; her children, Larry, Bryan, Maureen and Teresa; and her grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew Lyng, Ian O'Grady, Mackenzie Lawson, Erin Vanderwerp, Abigail Bell, Rachael Lane, Jennifer and Kelly O'Grady.

Larry and Jean backed that commitment through their substantial donations to The Nature Conservancy and other nature-focused causes throughout their lives.

“I recently discovered that your Mam passed away and to ye all, I send my deepest sympathies. I met your Mam and Dad in July 1976 in Ireland. They called to see my Mam (now 94). The late Minnie McGrath who died in 1947 was my Mams aunt and Minnie McGrath was your Dads grandmother: therefore we are related. Kind Regards Dolores Browne.”
