He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wilma Hertel (Harting) and Erwin Hertel; his wife Jeanne Hertel (Sabatini); his children, Eric (Carol) and Karen; his brother Gerhard Hertel (Gloria); and his sisters-in-law, Angie Rubeo (Eddie), Connie Sabatini and Elissa Scopino (Mauro).
