He was predeceased by: his son Gerald S. Watson, Jr.; his parents, Esther Mildred (Brown) and Stuart John Watson; and his sisters, Carol Watson, Bernice Cobb and Lois Vail.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane (Vacco); and his siblings, Elaine Bogart, Janice Polisoto and Richard Watson (Nancy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
