With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Russel Nelson Sands of Vero Beach, Florida, born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 13, 2023 at the age of 92. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Russel Nelson Sands to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his daughter Faith Ann Sands; and his wife Audrey F. Sands. He is survived by: his children, Paul Sands and Priscilla Haga of Orlando, FL; and his grandsons, Roger Sands of Vero Beach, FL, Paul Sands of Okeechobee, FL and Stephen Sands of Seminole, FL. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

He donated the proceeds from his carvings to various Christian non-profits.

“Dear Paul (and Sands family), We are sorry to hear about Russ's passing. We don't know if you remember us, but we used to stop by his house in Woodfield on our bike rides and chat with him quite often while he was working on his carvings. He invited us in to show us all his wonderful work and told us about his beloved wife and their life together. We have an oriole carving of his sitting on top of our bookshelf. He was a really sweet guy! Sending sincere condolences, Denise & George Way”
