He is survived by: his wife Beverly Baumer-Pettengill; his children, Denise Kollman of Destin, FL, Wayne Appling of Thailand, Wendy Patterson (Chip) of Tampa, FL, Michael Appling of Virginia, Jamie Olack (Deanna) of St Clair, MI and Carrie Thick (Dan) of Clyde, MI; his grandchildren, Ashley, Rachael, Ryan, Nichole Kollman, Royce Appling, Spencer, Sidney, Casey Patterson, Abby, Michael Appling, Matthew, Elizabeth Olack, Kierstyn Darhower (Steven), Lexie and Ethan Simpson; his son-in-law Thomas Simpson Jr.; and his pet Molly. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
