It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Christopher Smith of Vero Beach, Florida, who passed away on August 23, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Smith and Mary Ann Smith (Chaddock); his brothers, Philip, Thomas, John and Patrick; his love Laura Thatcher; and his former wife Patricia Smith.

He is survived by: his sons, Jim and Christopher; his son-in-law Danny Middleton, Jr.; and his siblings, Michael (Collette), Charlotte Kelley (Brian) and Mary Tierney (Michael). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

It was Jim's wish that donations be made to: Boy's Town, Nebraska http://support.boystown.org.

“Jim, what can I say ? We had some great times together. Many jokes and laughs together. Thank you for trusting me for so many years. I think of you almost every day and wondered how you were doing after I retired. Anyway, I guess the Big Guy asked why you left the cemenery but, I'm sure he understood your reasons. I will miss you and know I will think of you every day. Until we meet again ( unless they put me downstairs ) rest in peace dear friend. Doctor Bob.”
