He is survived by: his wife Sherrerd Welles Urner of Bay Head, NJ; his children, Nancy Urner-Berry (Scott) of Simsbury, CT, James Anderson Urner, Jr. (Jill) of Glenmont, NY and Katherine Schott (Jared) of Pawtucket, RI.; his grandchildren, Margaret, Katherine, Jimmy, Jack, Katie, Hannah Dempsey, Jared and Kelly (Troy); his great grandchildren, Oula, Kjell and Ursula; his brother Stephen Urner (Jane) of Seattle, WA; his nieces, Betsy and Nancy; and his stepbrothers, Nathaniel, Sherman, Gordon Gifford and Kellogg.
Additional community involvement included: Vestry member of St. Alban's Church in Simsbury, CT, Councilman of Bay Head municipality, volunteer at ReClam the Bay, and Foundation Board Trustee of Ocean Medical Center (Brick, NJ).
