It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gus T. Skarlis of Vero Beach, Florida, born in Mason City, Iowa, who passed away on March 8, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Evangeline Skarlis (Manolis) and Thomas Skarlis; his grandparents, George and Helen Manolis; his brother Anthony Skarlis; and his nephew Tommy Skarlis.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Yurigan; his sons, Gus Skarlis Jr. and James Joseph Skarlis; his grandchildren, Giada Skarlis, Carter Skarlis, Gavin Skarlis and Clay J Skarlis; and his brothers, George Skarlis (Shirley) and James Skarlis (Sandra).
Memorials may be given to Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Ft. Pierce, Florida or The Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Mason City, Iowa.
