He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johnson and Jewell Carswell. He is survived by: his daughter Deneen Porter; his siblings, Jimmy Porter, Parrish Porter, Keith Slates, Ervin Carswell, Torrance Hines, Deneen Bigham and Sabrina Cromes; and his close friends, Tony Zorbauth, Loretta Scott and Jackie Gayton. He is also survived by four uncles, six aunts, cousins.
