With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles R. Hashagen of Vero Beach, Florida, who passed away on April 18, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Lois; and his brother John Hashagen. He is survived by: his children, Craig A. Hashagen of Dubuque, IA and Gail Rosso (Thomas) of Vero Beach, FL.; his grandchildren, Dana Ziegler (Jesse Rosenbaum), Jennifer Hashagen, Gina Clark (Shawn) and Christopher Rosso (Ashley); and his great grandchildren, Logan, Reilly, Keira and Brielle.

“I have just been made aware of Charlie's death. He and I worked together for many years at Rutgers University in Newark NJ until he retired. He was exacting, truthful, and almost always cooperative -- I usually had some scheme in mind that he managed to squash! But he was a wonderful colleague, much respected by the administrators and higher level deans at Rutgers. I am happy he had a long life and I hope it was filled with good memories and not too much pain. Rest in peace, my friend.”
