He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvatore Spera and Clare Spera; his grandson Brently; and his siblings, Lawrence Spera and Susan Weinholtz.

He is survived by: his wife Patty; his daughters, Melissa Spera and Danielle Spera; his grandchildren, Melody, Ryder and Delaney; and his siblings, Jean Spera, Theresa Spera and Salvatore Spera, Jr. (Jodi).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lou's name can be made to Philadelphia Children's Hospital.
