He was predeceased by: his father Willie James Highsmith, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Ernestine Highsmith; his siblings, Willie Highsmith Jr. (Linda), Bobby Highsmith, Donnell Highsmith (Carlis), Linda Highsmith, Carol Highsmith, Barbara Lumpkin and David Highsmith (Gretchen); and his nieces and nephews, Zulema Highsmith, Nicholl Montgomery, Tamara Akanno (Museveni), Jason Lumpkin, Justin Montgomery, Alexandria Highsmith, Bethanie Highsmith, Marquies Highsmith and Maurice Highsmith.
