Charles Knicley Obituary
Sadly, on August 31, 2014, at the age of 86, we had to say goodbye to Charles Knicley (Valparaiso, Florida), born in Churchville, Virginia. A decorated war veteran who was on the USS Frederick when it was attacked and survived the explosion was in the Korean war and War World II came home with many scars and stories for days that he loved sharing with his family and friends even if they had heard them already a dozen or more times they still sat and listened to every word for not one syllable would ever change, his children could tell each story with him word for word also. Preceded in death by his parents John Samuel Knicley and Dorothy Lee Peters of Staunton Virginia, his brothers Walter Robert Knicley , Donald Peters, Bucky Peters, and brother in laws Joseph Newton Mercer, Samuel (Honcho) Aris Mercer, grandchildren Christopher Robin Knicley, Mathew John Lawrence, Joshua Daniel Laurence, son in laws Donald Omit Lawrence and Dennis Mathew Steele.
Survived by his children Sherry (Raymond) Schwoch of Crestview Florida , James (Amanda) Knicley of Fowlerville Michigan, and High Priestess Laura (Michael Breeding) Knicley of Valparaiso Florida and by the love of his life and mother to the aboved children Peggy Elisabeth Mercer Knicley of Valparaiso Florida. Grandchildren Michael Knicley, Sonora Sears, Allen Steele, Amber Knicley, Corey Knicley, Blake Knicley, Jakob Knicley, Dylan Knicley, Bradley Knicley, Christaphor Breeding, Samuel Breeding. With many great grandchildren.
