He was predeceased by: his mother Elberta Thurber Cleveland; and his sister Lucille Boyce. He is survived by: his spouse Beverly A. Griswold; his children, Patricia George (Robin) of Wellsville, Richard C. Thurber Jr (Jessie) and William Thurber (Nancy) of Leesburg, FL; and his sister Roberta Heltne of Beaverton, OR. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren.
