Gaines; his daughter-in-law Priscilla Gaines; his grandchildren, MaKenna, Loucetta and Landon Gaines; his siblings, Rodney Smith of Bolivar, NY, Joseph Smith Jr. of Allegany, NY, Christine Bennett of Wellsville, NY, Marsha Taylor of Belmont, NY, Edna Rice of Belmont, NY, Sarah Smith of Belmont, NY and Victoria Root (Brain) of Bolivar; his brother-in-law Tom Button; his nephew Eric Button (Danielle); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gabriella, Myiah and Paisley of Savannah, GA; and his sister-in-law Chris Dubois of Arkport, NY. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.
