It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilyn Chavis of Umatilla, Florida, born in Eustis, Florida, who passed away on April 30, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Gandy and Alvie Gandy (Frier); her husband Billy David Chavis, Sr.; and her siblings, John Edward Gandy, James Monroe Gandy and Irene Gandy Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Shelby Chavis, Wanda J. Chavis Lyons (Victor), Billy David Chavis Jr. (Deborah) and Jeffery Monroe Chavis; her grandchildren, Michelle Givens Jefferies, Michael Ramey Givens (Emily Oeehslin), Shane Jacob Lyons (Rachel), Phillip David Thomas (Tammara), Jennifer Reed Chavis and Casey David Chavis; and her great grandchildren, Mackenzie Fawn Givens, Madison Elizabeth Givens and Sadie Jean Lyons. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
